While in New York we also took in a couple of shows. Two very different shows, I might add. The first was a definite bucket list "cross off" for me. THE ROCKETTES.
Now, before we go any further, you have to know that I am one of those people who builds things up....a lot. So I had ridiculous expectations for the Rockettes. I think I may even have said "this will be the greatest day of my life." Embarrassing. Anyway, it met every single one of my expectations. It's not just high kicks, people. These ladies are supremely talented dancers and really put on an amazing show complete with a live nativity and 3D elements. When we left, there was no carol unsung, no part of the Christmas story left out. I'm trying not to hype this, but you HAVE.TO.SEE. THEM. Book tickets here. I'll wait.

We also saw Hugh Jackman in his one-man play appropriately titled, Hugh Jackman Back on Broadway. Apparently, he hasn't just been playing Wolverine all of these years. He played Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz on Broadway a few years back. I was surprised too. Anyway, it was fantastic. Really. I had zero opinion of him prior to the performance, but was really impressed by his ability, not only to sing and dance, but to make you feel like you were in his living room and maybe he had had a few cocktails and was just putting on a show for you and a few of his friends. Speaking of a few of his friends, guess who was in the audience? Oprah. That's right, THE Oprah. Swear to you. And yes, I saw her hair and the side of her face and it was amazing. More on Hugh Jackman's show here.
