Benji Wednesday

Benji generally favors the energy and excitement of a cosmopolitan area, but like any cultured pup he's never opposed to a weekend in the country. Here he is enjoying a little R&R in the great outdoors.

Macaroon Madness

Recently read an article on macaroons and how the fashion world is completely obsessed with them. I must say I am too. And, after years of being the chic dessert they have some serious staying power. Why? In my opinion, it is because they never fail to illicit excited shrieks from people young and old. They're just plain fun. And what's better than that?

Macaroons at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC

Laduree in Paris. The best macaroons in my opinion. Period.

Laduree van outside the store in Paris, circa 2007. Can you imagine catering a party with nothing but macaroons and champagne?

Or what about a macaroon tower?

Yes, please.

Herve, Herve!

Love this dress!

Military Style

Didn't think I was going to embrace the military trend until I saw Alexa Chung in this jacket from Paris fashion week. This outfit to me is perfection.

Weird or Not?

Found "Baby Abuelita" on a recent shopping trip to Target and was puzzled. It's a baby grandpa? I get that kids love their grandparents, but a baby old person just seems a little Curious Case of Benjamin Button to me. And, isn't it Baby Abuelito? Weird or not?

Benji Wednesday

Benji is probably the cutest after one of his least-favorite activities, a bath. His hair is naturally slightly crimped. Not frizzy. Crimped. It's hilarious. He would have been super popular in the '80s.

Oscar Fashion

My computer has been experiencing some technical difficulties of late. Thus, my post on the Academy Awards fashion is almost unbearably late. Alas, I must say something. In general, I was slightly underwhelmed at the choices made by starlets and their stylists, but there were a few exceptions. To wit....

Amanda Seyfried in Armani Prive. I couldn't find a photo that really did this dress justice (or at least perceived justice as witnessed from my TV screen) but I loved this dress. It was classic and subtle and just completely understated. Perfect for a younger starlet attending the Oscars.

Demi Moore in the palest peach Atelier Versace. I loved the color, but the best part about this outfit was the matching shoes. I kind of loved that, so throwback '60s. Well done, Zoe. She looked gorgeous.

Diane Kruger in Chanel. I love this dress. So amazing. So Chanel.

Meryl Streep in Chris March. Before you say "What the what?" let me explain. I think this is the best, most age-appropriate dress she has ever worn. She looked like she was glowing in the white. I also love that she wore a Project Runway alum's dress. And did you see the black and white diamond zebra cuffs she rocked? Kind of awesome.

Vera Farmiga in Marchesa. Awesome. I wish more people dressed like this on the red carpet. How amazing would it be to see the Oscar red carpet look like a Vogue editorial? I really think she wore this dress well, simple hair, simple jewlery. Absolutely gorgeous.

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab. Obsessed. Is there anything else to say? Not only is the actress herself so inspirational. Miley Cyrus, take note. But her choice of dress was just completely perfect. On trend, and yet it looked so organic to her style. I loved her hair, makeup, everything. I would say she was my favorite, but then I saw....

Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta. I seriously had to do a double take. Cameron Diaz is not one to take my breath away on the red carpet, but this dress, her hair, her makeup. I just loved it all, and not just because of my obsession with Oscar de la Renta. She looked absolutely beautiful! I hope she continues to go this route. She looks so great as a classic bombshell.

Prada Prep

I'm so in love with Prada's prepster socks for fall. How awesome is the red cable knit down the front?

Love the entire collection, especially this look:

Benji Wednesday

This is one of my favorite Benji photos, it just screams "Gotcha"
