Monogram of the Moment

I monogrammed this toiletry case for my sister-in-law for Christmas. I just love the way it turned out!

Happy New Year's Eve! Wishing you a safe and fun evening of celebrating 2013 and looking forward to 2014!

Weekend Snaps

Happy Christmas week! I can't believe it's here! I hope you are having a wonderful and relaxing Monday. This weekend aside from running last-minute Christmas errands, I pretty much took it easy (a theme lately).

I did some monogramming...

I got a precious gift from our godson...

I got all of the presents re-wrapped and spent some time with the cutest dog you've ever seen...

My mom, sister and I went to see The Nutcracker...

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas Eve Eve!

Christmas Decorations

Benji is at the vet today, and he's super pissed about it. So instead of Benji Wednesday I thought I would post our Christmas decorations. I can't believe Christmas is just a week away!

Our star topper is totally crooked, so please enjoy this cropped photo of the bottom down of the tree. I vowed this year to make sure you could barely see the greenery and I think I just about succeeded. I bought all of the silver snowflakes on One Kings Lane for next to nothing at the after-Christmas sale. It's amazing.

Our stockings…left to right Benji, W.A., me, Luke (with the huge rawhide bone) and Elsie

Both of these pretty table runners are from my mom's old Christmas decorations, thanks Mom!

Actually, these little boxes are hers too.

And, in the cuteness department how precious are these sushi baby booties? Uncommon Goods has a ton of cute and original baby gifts. I'm really trying to curb my baby goodie buying, but I might just have to have these!

Monogram of the Moment

This year I monogrammed dish towels for our friends for Christmas. I bought the red and white ones from Williams-Sonoma and then customized them with different families' names. It took a while to get them all done, but I think they turned out very cute!

Weekend Snaps

Happy Monday! After Luke unwrapped ALL of our Christmas presents, we decided to send him to camp for a week, and so it's been pretty quiet with just these two around...

We went to a tacky Christmas sweater party. This beautiful Nutcracker number was my mother-in-law's back in the '80s when apparently these types of sweaters were quite in vogue.

We went to a Mavs game on Saturday, and visited Victory Park. I thought this was funny considering how big I feel these days...

I wore my new favey fave necklace to church on Sunday. It's 30 percent off right now (as is everything at J.Crew) with the code GIFTNOW.

I might take the J.Crew sale opportunity to stock up on more of their maternity leggings. They are super awesome and pretty much the only pants I can wear now…

I found this awesome necklace online at Neimans the other day and it makes me wish I had an illegible signature.

Is that not the total best? You send off a photo of your signature and they make it for you. The only thing is it has to be a continuous line, so if you pick your pen up while autographing (like I do) it wouldn't really work. Still it's pretty awesome.

Benji Wednesday: The Thaw Edition

We finally had a little sunshine here in snowy Chicago, I mean Fort Worth, and Benji took full advantage of the rays yesterday.

And, apparently, this is what you do when you're majorly snowed in and have access to a monogramming machine. If you wondered what you are getting for Christmas from us, it's something monogrammed.

Weekend Snaps

Well the snow and ice stuck around all weekend. I left the house after 48 hours indoors to walk on the treadmill at the gym and then completely negate that workout with a fajita feast at Mi Cocina. Some snaps...

My husband's truck on Saturday

Watching the SMU game with a lucky koozie…it didn't quite work, but the ponies played well against UCF

Our Christmas wreath

Benji and I monogrammed for a good bit of the weekend.

Here's hoping the last of the icy roads melt today!

What's Up Snow Day

It looks like this at our house today...

So, we've been staying warm inside. I wish I had a pair of these to snuggle in. Instead I'm rocking the Uggs, making hot cocoa and addressing Christmas cards.

In other news, Kate Middleton wore a hair ribbon to the premiere of Mandela and it was amazing. Also, Nelson Mandela passed away (I may have buried the lead here), but seriously….While not shocking (he was 95, I think), his passing it is a reminder of a life lived peacefully against all odds. He was a truly inspiring man.

We had our first baby shower before the weather turned nasty last night. A big thank you to our very sweet friends who turned out to celebrate with us.

Happy Weekend!

Christmas Gifties: Things For Me

It's so fun to give gifts at Christmas. There is nothing better than finding the perfect gift for someone, but let's be honest, I also love getting things. Herewith are my favorite Christmas gifties to receive. Husband, are you reading this?

Vitamix Professional 200 Blender
I am extremely lazy these days when it comes to cooking (or blending) anything. I've wanted one of these Vitamix blenders for a while and I feel like it might inspire me to make some green juice, which would be a good break from all of the Chick-fil-A I've been eating lately.

I still wear my UGG boots loud and proud, but because I don't live in a very snowy climate I really could use something that doesn't scream snow bunny. These look so comfy and a little more Texas-appropriate.

Love love love Ashley Pittman's jewelry. I bought some horn bangles of her design and I wear them all the time. I think this necklace would jazz up pretty much anything.

Maybe it's because I don't have a waist right now, but I'm obsessed with a Hermes belt. I love the one Molly Sims is wearing in the photo above. Absolutely perfect for spring.

Christmas Gifties: Things for Baby

How cute is this little guy? Not sure how appropriate it would be if our baby is a girl, but I love it!

Love these Gigi New York bags as diaper bags…and you can monogram it!

It's crazy expensive, but I just love it for a baby's room like Rachel Zoe's above. I think you could rationalize the purchase because you could use it in any room and keep it forever.

Some of the baby mobiles in baby stores are painfully tacky looking. I love all of the great handmade felt ones on Etsy.
