What's Up Thursday: Happy Halloween!

All photos from my Pinterest

Happy Halloween! This is probably my very very favorite holiday. Today we'll be celebrating with friends and family and indulging in some candy (I'm really in to Kit Kats right now) and the Halloween movie franchise.

We're also the annoying people who do this...

I'm still debating what I'm going as. Either a girl with pink hair or a cat...

And, we moved our creepy butler statue to the window, so that hopefully the two candy minimum is kept.

In other happenings, I think I finally found a hoodie that will zip over the bump. I love this one from Lululemon. I went up two sizes in the hopes that it will fit for a little while. Now I want it in black and green too!!!

I am so loving Kelly Clarskson's farm wedding. Her dress is gorgeous, and they look so happy. She is just so precious, and I love her new blonde 'do.

I am also so excited about her Christmas album, Wrapped in Red. I just downloaded it, but am trying to wait until Thanksgiving to start rocking the Christmas tunes.

I'm still not shopping for myself (aside from the necessary workout clothes and stretch pants), but if I were I would totally buy this beauty...

I also love this one. And it's so much cheaper!!!

Happy Halloween!

Benji Wednesday

My favorite thing to eat these days is a green apple. I eat one every single day. Don't be too impressed...I also eat a lot of Chick-fil-A. Anyway, Benji was really curious as to what I have been eating so I let him try it out.

Not a fan.

Monogram of the Moment

One of my friends had a baby a few weeks ago. Since they weren't finding out the baby's gender, she hadn't monogrammed anything, but had bought this cute little going home gown. She brought it over to me mere hours before she went into labor and when the baby came I monogrammed it with his new initials...

It was so fun for me because I had an excuse to go see her immediately after the baby came!

And, of course had to add a gift of my own...

Isn't this precious? I got it on One Kings Lane and just thought it was the cutest.

Happy Halloween Week!

In an effort to be more frugal we are recycling Halloween costumes this year. And, honestly, t's ridiculous that we have more than 10 dog costumes. So this year Benji is going as his 2007 dinosaur, Luke is re-wearing 2010's monster ensemble and Elsie is wearing Benji's hot dog costume (maybe from 2011...I honestly can't remember!).

This weekend we had a fun dinner at home with friends to watch the TCU vs. Texas game. It was a rainy Saturday night, so Benji spent most of it in his Thundershirt.

Still not convinced this does anything for Benji, but he doesn't mind wearing it and it makes me feel like I am doing something to help his storm phobia.

I found these pretty flowers at Central Market. I love fall flowers, especially sunflowers.

On Sunday we finally saw Gravity. Forget slasher films, this is the scariest movie I have see in a while. To say it was intense was an understatement. We saw it in 3D, which was really cool. I recommend it, but definitely plan to watch something light and happy afterward.

What's Up Thursday

I think I might need to unsubscribe from J. Crew's e-mails. I'm trying not to buy anything for myself right now and my willpower stayed strong though their 25% off friends and family sale. And then they send out this photo in their last e-mail. That sweater! Those bracelets! There is only so much I can take!

What I should be buying is a long dress for a party we have coming up. I love this one from Ralph Lauren S/S 2014, but since I'm a little...shall we say rotund...I will be renting from Rent the Runway. Kind of nervous as my last experience was not great, but we'll see. I got a couple of options, I'll share the winner after the event.

I am completely obsessed with watching The Witches of East End starring Mrs. Channing Tatum. It's basically like a good Lifetime movie turned into a show, with witches. I know, I know, it sounds completely crazy, but it's amazing. The only way it could be better is if Channing himself made a guest appearance. Here's hoping.

I've started working on our nursery and the hardest part so far has been finding cute light fixtures that are gender neutral. I know that sounds way easy, but it is crazy how many chandeliers have flowers and sparkly things all over them. I love this one from Serena & Lily.

Benji Wednesday

First of all, say hello to the best little cuddling buddy in the world. Benji is a master cuddler, the ultimate lap dog. I have never met a dog more into chilling out than the Bean. This is Benji hanging with me in bed, our new favorite hanging out spot.

Second, congrats to Kimye. I don't know why I am so excited about this, but I really, really am. I am so glad these to crazy self-obsessed kids are tying the knot.

And, of course, Kimmie wasted no time posting the big honkin ring on her Instagram account....

Say what you will about them, but I really appreciate Kim's ability to always satisfy my need for celebrity instant gratification.

Now, about that wedding....

Monogram of the Moment

When I monogram things for myself I really love to do HUGE monograms. Sometimes I'll use a really bold color, but I also like the subtlety of a semi-hidden monogram like this one. We already use these napkins almost every night for dinner. Now the monogram makes everyday dinner seem a little more fancy.

Halloween Decorations

Happy Monday! I've been sick with a cold this past week so our weekend was pretty uneventful. I did manage to take some photos of our Halloween decorations though.

He's not a decoration, but he's just so cute!

I love this list of 10 Pieces Every Woman Should Own Before 30 from Who What Wear. It's a little more interesting than just telling you to get a great LBD. I'm still working on the signature accessory bit, but I've got a couple more months.

Until then, some inspirational signature accessories...

What's Up Thursday

I'm really in to grey jeans for this fall and winter. Let me clarify, I'm really into anything that makes it look like I wear more than just black clothing in fall and winter and I feel like these go with black.

Mother's The Looker Jeans available (and on sale!) at Shopbop

J Brand's Mama J Maternity Legging Jeans available at Shopbop

For right now though, I think these J Brands are the ticket. And, even better, Shopbop is having their friends and family event with the code INTHEFAMILY25. It ends today though, so better get on it!

Also love this! Although it's way out of my budget...

In weird couple news of the week, did you hear that Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes are actually not dating. How this even started as a rumor is beyond me, but Foxx is denying it publicly now. I don't know what these two would even talk about, but apparently they were seen dancing together at a party in the Hamptons a couple of weeks ago.

I've been slowly working on the nursery and since we're not finding out the baby's gender we're going for a neutral-colored room with some mint green accents. And, because I have to decorate every room in our house with the Marguerite Blue on this table, we'll use a little of that too.

I am looking for a great black clutch for the fall and I just love this one from Gigi New York and it's so reasonably priced. Plus, you can monogram it.

Benji Wednesday...and an announcement!

This photo was from a while ago. You can tell from Benji's hair, it's in an awkward grow-out stage, but I love how perfectly posed he looks here. It's really hard to get him to sit still for a photo. For some reason he purposely turns his head away from me. This one was pure luck.

And speaking of luck. I am feeling very lucky and very blessed lately and I'm so happy to share that we are expecting...

My first bump pic....

More updates to come!
