R & D's Wedding

On her wedding day I think every girl wants to feel like a princess. One of my hometown friends took it one step further and actually had her wedding recption in a castle last weekend. Yes, that's right, a castle. Belcourt Castle to be exact. But let me back up. First the wedding was absolutely lovely in an old Anglican church.

Here we are outside the church.

Then, off to the beautiful day reception here...

R looked simply stunning and her groom could not stop smiling.

Here's a shot of the dress. Amazing!

Then it was off to the reception (part deux). Leave it to the smartest friend I have to give us a history lesson along with her wedding.

Belcourt Castle was built in 1894 by a bachelor who requested there be no kitchen and only one bedroom and bath among the 64 rooms. Oh, did I mention he used the entire downstairs floor as a stable for his 30 horses? Men.

The ballroom, where the amazing wedding band rocked out!

The castle was filled with antiques like so...

...and beautiful architecture.

An amazing wedding in an amazing historic place. Best wishes R & D!
