Oscar Fashion

My computer has been experiencing some technical difficulties of late. Thus, my post on the Academy Awards fashion is almost unbearably late. Alas, I must say something. In general, I was slightly underwhelmed at the choices made by starlets and their stylists, but there were a few exceptions. To wit....

Amanda Seyfried in Armani Prive. I couldn't find a photo that really did this dress justice (or at least perceived justice as witnessed from my TV screen) but I loved this dress. It was classic and subtle and just completely understated. Perfect for a younger starlet attending the Oscars.

Demi Moore in the palest peach Atelier Versace. I loved the color, but the best part about this outfit was the matching shoes. I kind of loved that, so throwback '60s. Well done, Zoe. She looked gorgeous.

Diane Kruger in Chanel. I love this dress. So amazing. So Chanel.

Meryl Streep in Chris March. Before you say "What the what?" let me explain. I think this is the best, most age-appropriate dress she has ever worn. She looked like she was glowing in the white. I also love that she wore a Project Runway alum's dress. And did you see the black and white diamond zebra cuffs she rocked? Kind of awesome.

Vera Farmiga in Marchesa. Awesome. I wish more people dressed like this on the red carpet. How amazing would it be to see the Oscar red carpet look like a Vogue editorial? I really think she wore this dress well, simple hair, simple jewlery. Absolutely gorgeous.

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab. Obsessed. Is there anything else to say? Not only is the actress herself so inspirational. Miley Cyrus, take note. But her choice of dress was just completely perfect. On trend, and yet it looked so organic to her style. I loved her hair, makeup, everything. I would say she was my favorite, but then I saw....

Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta. I seriously had to do a double take. Cameron Diaz is not one to take my breath away on the red carpet, but this dress, her hair, her makeup. I just loved it all, and not just because of my obsession with Oscar de la Renta. She looked absolutely beautiful! I hope she continues to go this route. She looks so great as a classic bombshell.
