Weekend Snaps

Happy Monday! This weekend I spent some time with my mom and sister. On Saturday, my sister and I went to Dallas and stalked the Neimans Last Call shoe sale. We didn't come away with any steals, but I was oddly into these Rene Caovilla soles. They are so ridiculously over the top, and really fun. Who wouldn't want to walk on glitter...

We visited the HPV Dior store, which is so completely gorgeous.

We tried our luck at Again and Again...

...but all I found was this amazing bench that I have no space for whatsoever. It's cool though, right?

Oh, and poor Luke got soap in his eye from a grooming visit gone awry. He spent most of the weekend like this, until his eye drops started working. He was a trooper though, and was still happy, regardless of a stinging eye. 

I'm going all out for the Bachelorette tonight! Will post photos tomorrow!

Are you kidding me? No really, like who looks this amazing less than 24 hours after childbirth? I cannot get over how precious the royal family is, and I love the name George. Hip hip hooray! I don't know about you, but I personally can't get enough of all the media coverage of this. I think that maybe my cable company needs to start a Royals TV channel.

If you're not watching Below Deck on Bravo, seriously reconsider. This is my absolute new favorite guilty pleasure. It's a reality show featuring the crew of a posh charter yacht. Their interactions with each other and their bratty charter guests are absolutely hilarious. 

I'm about halfway into Robert Galbraith's (aka J.K. Rowling) mystery novel The Cuckoo's Calling. It's very good so far. I find the book is make even more interesting by the fact that she it wrote under a pseudonym...and that a mysterious Tweet leaked her as the author. The situation is all very Harry Potter.

Yay hooray! I was about to go crazy with the royal baby watch brewha, and finally he's here! Congrats to the new parents, the country of England...and I mean, not to overstate this, but really the WORLD. Now, what do you think he's going to be named? I've heard the top three contenders are George, Philip and James. All great names. Now in celebration I think we should all buy Kate Middleton-esqe coats like this one. 

Now for some monogramming....

In an attempt to see if (as the seller said) I really could monogram leather with the machine I bought, I monogrammed this bag for my sister a few weeks ago. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Happy Monday!

This weekend we went antiquing and found a lot of stuff that doesn't at all fit in with our house, but that I like a lot. Like this leopard chair and that mirrored coffee table below.

I wore my absolute favorite new shoes to church with an old Calypso dress. The brand is Aquazzura and they make every outfit a little more fun...

Plus, this is written on the inside of the box...

I tried out our new Zoku pop maker. It works great!

My recipe might need some work though. I just used coconut milk and sliced up pineapple and it was a little bland. I am not deterred though! They were so easy to make!

Looking forward to TMTA on The Bachelorette tonight. Methinks several men have some 'splanin to do.

Happy Birthday to my sister today! You are the sweetest sister anyone could ask for, and you always know what's cool. Like those blue nails in the photo below...or what's not very cool, but fun, like the puppets even further below. Love you.

I have a minor obsession with Oscar de la Renta earrings. These for fall are just everything. I think you could wear them with pretty much anything. I'm obsessed. 

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but how great is Reese Witherspoon's outfit here?

I especially love her Givenchy Nightingale bag. Givenchy is basically killing it with bags right now. I love this one and this one...oh and this one. 

I made zucchini and corn pasta with goat cheese this week and it was so completely amazing. I got the recipe out of this month's Real Simple, and I can't find it online, but I did find this recipe, that looks equally amazing, sans corn. Maybe we'll make this one over the weekend!

Happy Monday and Happy Birthday to my mom today! You are such an amazing mother, friend and traveling buddy to me. 

This weekend was very low key. I spent some time in Dallas with my sister and some time with my family relaxing. 

I got some colorful gifts for some upcoming birthdays.

I wore a raincoat and a fun new necklace to church on Sunday and enjoyed the fantastic rain and cooler weather all day!

My sister and I tried out Sissy's Southern Kitchen in Dallas. It was pretty delicious.

I'm continuing my lemonade quest with this concoction. It's still a little sour...I just can't put a heaping spoonful of sugar in a drink. 

I can't wait for hometown visits on The Bachelorette tonight. I always love the crazy relatives that come out during these episodes. Here's hoping for a taxidermist or an eccentric aunt. At this point I know it's anyone's game, but I'm really pulling for Drew. He's so sweet and way easy on the eyes!

Whats Up Thursday

I've been sorely missing my Kate Middleton sightings as we await the arrival of little Baby Cambridge, so I'm contenting myself with Rue Daily's Kate Middleton style guide. I just love these beautiful hair jewels that she's wearing in this photo. I'm so intrigued. Are they bobby pins? I had some hair jewels from Claire's in 1999 and they were velcro. Not quite this elegant a look. Haha!

I love the sales this time of year! I usually don't shop at Garnet Hill, but I was flipping through their catalog and saw this great cardigan on major sale. I don't know who in the world can wear this in the summer...maybe someone who lives in Canada, but I'm excited I'll get to wear it this fall.

Of course, right now it's 100 degrees outside, so I've been trying to keep cool by making some cool drinks. I made a honeydew and lime drink last week and it was amazing, next up I'm trying to perfect a sparkling lemonade. This one looks incredible. Yum!

Benji Wednesday

Just in case you thought anyone was safe from my monogramming. The answer is no. I found an old Mascot collar of Benji's and this happened.

I've had this little J.Crew makeup bag for a while and in my quest to monogram everything I own this happened....

I like this font because it's a little different and unexpected. I also am still looking for ways to make my monogram look less Ralph Lauren-y, to which my sister recently said, "Oh, whatever, you love it."

Happy Monday after a loooong and relaxing Fourth of July weekend!

I enjoyed this firework cookie from my sweet mother-in-law, and actually saw some real fireworks for the first time in several years!

I spent some time snuggling with this crazy dog.

I found these oldies but goodies in the back of my closet and took them to the pool.

We spent some time in at my parent's pool. 

Looking forward to watching the final five on The Bachelorette tonight! I am kind of thinking that Michael will get the boot tonight and the hometown visits will go to Zak, Drew, Chris and Brooks....but I've been wrong before. Haha!

Benji Wednesday

While we were on vacation, Benji had an allergic reaction to a flea bite and started scratching himself silly. The boarder we took him to shaved him down and sent me this pathetic photo of him after his haircut. Poor guy!

He's doing better now, but fleas are no joke when you're allergic.

I got this idea from seeing a lady with a similar monogrammed hat in Florida. I actually just had this old J.Crew hat and I think the monogram really makes it special. 

And it matches my new beach bag!

Vacation Snaps

Back in town after a nice week in Florida. It was super hot, but really beautiful! We had a lot of fun with my husband's family. 

We watched last week's Bachelorette when we got home and holy drama. I can't believe that Ben got sent home! I was also really sad to see Mikey go home as well. He had some really great confessionals. Can't wait to see what happens tonight!
