Flower Power

I'll never be over a good floral print and luckily the flowery trend is continuing into fall 2012. I definitely want to wear this Dolce and Gabbana dress right now!

I Love...

This Yigal Arouzel dress from Shopbop. Could it be more awesome? It is truly the perfect combination of navy and kelly green and it's so interesting, you definitely do a double take when you see it. I feel like you could wear it to a wedding too, and for $995 I kind of would need to every wedding I'm ever invited to hereafter. There's one left in my size and I keep hovering over the "Add to Cart" button, but I'm exhibiting self control. Oh to dream...

En Pointe Polish

I'm a total sucker for all things ballet-inspired, thus,  I'm just totally obsessed with OPI's New York Ballet line of nail polish. You can buy them online at Amazon.

Left to Right: Care to Danse?, My Pointe Exactly, You Callin' Me a Lyre?, Don't Touch My Tutu, Barre My Soul and Pirouette My Whistle.

Loving the sweet peach color "Barre My Soul" for spring and summer.

In fact, I'm thinking peach is the new color for nails, as Chanel's line of spring polish aptly named for the months of late spring and early summer features a gorgeous peach lacquer called "June." Too pretty, non?

Left to Right: April, June, May

Weekend Snaps

How was your Easter weekend? I spent mine with my family and friends. Friday I made these salted chocolate chip cookies. They do not lie, these are the best chocolate chip cookies, right up there with the Neiman Marcus recipe I was previously obsessed with. The best part is they contain salt. I mean, savory and sweet in one cookie = to die for!

Saturday I spent with Alice and then in the evening saw 21 Jump Street, which was pretty hysterical. Easter Sunday was super laid back: church with family, a wonderful dinner hosted by my brother and, of course, Mad Men. I am newly obsessed.

Above is the Jus Flight at Forty Five Ten containing one green juice, one watermelon juice and one pomegranate juice. All were so delish. Watermelon was my favorite, I got the "Melange" which was watermelon juice mixed with soda.
Above mentioned cookies for A & J

Nashville curls courtesy of Dry Bar

"Charleston" and "Savannah" candles from the Wisteria outlet in Dallas (aka my new favorite place)

Cupcake Sauvignon Blanc and wasabi peas and dry roasted almonds

Looking forward to a busy week of work and fun!

Valley of the Dolls Style

All of the pastel spring fashions remind me of the gloriously girlie world of Valley of the Dolls (1967) starring Barbara Parkins, Patty Duke and Sharon Tate. If you haven't seen this iconic film of the 1960s you simply must. It's just fun.

And, for kicks, some of my favorite Dolls-inspired buys...

Raindrop lace top available at J.Crew

Belle du Jour lipstick by Nars available at Sephora

Jil Sander violet shift dress available at Net-a-porter

Red Valentino bow tote available at Shopbop

Dolls box available at Furbish

3.1 Philip Lim pumps available at Saks Fifth Avenue

Pink typewriter photo via Etsy (rumor has it Valley of the Dolls author Jacqueline Susann typed out the book on one of these guys)

Weekend Snaps

If you thought last weekend's snaps were on the girlie side, brace yourself:

This weekend was definitely one for the hens. I spent Friday window shopping with my dear college roomie, Sydney, whom I hadn't seen in forever. It was so fun catching up! During our day, she spotted the amazing pair of Kate Spade cork and coral patent flats that were deeply discounted (okay, 30 percent off). Which got me thinking, a possible up side to this whole Lent thing is that everything I've wanted to buy for the past 30-odd days is probably now on sale! Hooray!

I also enjoyed a fabulous baby shower for my sweet friend Ashley. She's having a girl (the dream), so we went all out on the pink decorations. And, the roses are in my parents' yard and are going bananas. They look and smell so wonderful I had to take a photo. Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Looking forward to a joyful Easter week!

Vintage Week: Friday Pick

Wrapping up Vintage Week it's only natural that we circle back to Rachel Zoe and one of her favorite vintage haunts, Decades. Located in Los Angeles (there is also an outpost in London), Decades is an upscale boutique featuring mint condition luxury vintage items from the 20th century. The L.A. store also has consignment store for 21st century items aptly named Decades Two. Owner Cameron Silver cuts a dashing figure in one episode where Rachel considers a vintage Birkin (le sigh!). The store blog is a must read that chronicles Cameron Silver's vintage finds such as this lovely...

Oui, that is a YSL lucite bangle. I know, isn't it amazing?

Happiest weekends, hope you are off to do something lovely!
